This is another independent project that I decided to do. I was inspired from different things that I have seen on an app and I wanted to try them out myself. This was my first time using acrylic paint and so I had to take some risks and try out some different things. I used a paint brush that was more of a sponge type material so I could blend the colors more easily. I build new skills and I was able to successfully make the background look a little bit like a sunset. I then used black paint over top of the background so it would look more like a silhouette. After all of this was dried, I developed another new skill. I used a toothbrush and some watered down acrylic white paint to splatter the painting and make it look like it was a starry night. I was able to successfully make a painting using all of the new skills that I developed and now I can work even more towards bettering my skills.

This is an independent project that I wanted to create. I wanted to experiment more with water color and the ink and so this is what I decided to make. I began the project with making the water color birds. I took many risks and I attempted to blend colors with the water color. It took me a lot of attempts to make it turn out the way I wanted to. Each time I tried something new and if it didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, I began again and tried something else. I was constantly solving problems and working my way through the project and I'm really happy with how the final project came out. The blending of the water color with the different colors worked well and the lettering at the top turned out exactly how I wanted it to.
In this project, we were tasked with the project of making a portrait. Since my skills have been limited up until this point, I spent a little bit of time developing the skills of drawing different facial features and taking risks by working with materials that I wasn't exactly used to. I used different pencils in order to get the different values and each time I drew a feature I practiced different techniques. After practicing the different features, I realized that my strengths were in the area of drawing eyes, so I decided to incorporate that into my final project. At first, I simply put the closed eyes and the tear drops with the water color. Then, I collaborated with other people in order to figure out that I would put at the bottom of the tears. It was decided that I would draw a small forest scene and make the tears touch a few trees and turn them green. I am really proud of how this piece came out and I'm really happy with the skills I developed.
