This project is still a work in progress. My teacher introduced the project of embroidery to us as a class and I took on a very ambitious project. Through this process, I am learning different stitches and developing my skills further. The colors I have chosen so far I really like and I feel like they work really well together. I decided to take it one color at a time and work at it slowly to hopefully have a completed project by the end of the year.

This project is an independent project that I wanted to work on. After working with Gesso on my last project, I decided that I wanted to do another project with it. I mixed the Gesso with red paint to make the pink for the background. I then went in with white paint to make the dots around the edges and the big white hearts as well as the little while hearts. I was going to leave it at that, but I felt that it looked too bare and decided to add some more color to it. Since it is a Valentine's Day gift, I went in with a little red paint to add more dots and hearts within the smaller hearts to add an extra pop of color and I really liked how it turned out. Finally, I mixed the red and white paint to make pink and wrote a little message within the big heart. This all came together really quickly due to the fact that I had made a previous piece of art and didn't like the way it turned out at all. I was forced to problem solve and this is what I came up with. Throughout the whole process, I was working with new skills that I had developed as well as gaining intelligence on other new skills that I hadn't worked with as much and I'm really happy with the way this project turned out.
This project was an independent project that I made as a present for my sister Jamie for her birthday. I found the idea on Pinterest, and while the shapes of the dinosaurs aren't my own original art, I found a way to make them my own. I started by covering the boards in black and white Gesso to make sure that there would be even coverage. Then, I traced the shape of the dinosaur and outlined them in black to make a clean frame for the color on the inside. My next step was to mix my colors and I worked really hard to make sure they were more on the pastel side. I had to overcome the challenge of time as I didn't really have a lot of time to work and I was forced to problem solve. I also developed new skills of mixing paint as I had to do trial and error a few times to make sure the color was perfect. I worked collaboratively with the people around me to collect suggestions on different aspects of the dinosaurs and I'm really happy with the way they came out and my sister loves them.
